OEM Fire Handles
121. October 2024 by Peter
I found 3 fire handles from a real B737 on eBay a few years ago. And I have had them laying around for way to long now. So it was time to install then in the cockpit. They are massive units. Sturdy build and fully working.
It was only the handles I got my hands on. Not the panel/lightplate. Not the enclosure. Se everything around the panels had to be build.
So I am doing a few videos on the handles:
It requires quite a lot of force to pull and turn the handles. So I was a bit afraid if the acrylic of a panel from companies like OpenCockpits or CockpitSimPatrs would break when pulling the handle. So I spend a lot of time working on a solution.
On the side of the handles there are a pin-out diagram. So interfacing these ought to be easy. But I overlooked something causing a few days frustration.
Finally there is the build of the unit which also requires a bit of work and the interfacing.
So let the fun begin.

Hi, look what I found, including the faceplate.
