(Almost) A maiden flight
218. January 2018 by Peter
I have used a lot of time and energy over the last months to get the cockpit back in a working shape after we moved to the new house over a year ago. We have been doing a lot of renovation, but it has taken me quite some time to get all my little projects finished.
Last time I did an update I had lot of problems with my USB connections. Turns out it was my Pokeys56U card that was causing all the problems. I have bought some Pokeys57E cards instead and need to change it at some point. But slowly I got all interface cards working and yesterday I was ready for a “maiden flight” with my new set up.
It was so smooth. The 180 deg screen is really nice. I added some cardboard last weekend as sidewalls and ceiling. Honestly I will not be able to finish “Project sidewall” and make a ceiling out of wood with in the next half year. The cardboard gives the same illusion of being in a closed room. So it will have to do for now.
Taks off from Innsbruck was fantastic. When to aircraft banked it gave that “Swuuuuch” feeling in the stomach. And being able to look out the side windows down on the roads, houses and landscape was just fantastic! So I was pretty jolly and happy.
Until it was time to land….

Hello Peter,
I have been following your site for sometime if you still remember me. I just saw that you have on out of memory error. May be it could be the projector that you suspect or if you are using P3D4 then memory could be a problem. check out this topic on page 3 where it says there can be memory issues. some thing for you to consider.
