A short notice on servos

Earlier I bought a S3003 servo of eBay. I found them rather cheap – only about $4 each – including shipping.

But honestly I found them somewhat imprecise when wired up with SIOC. So last Monday I ordered two HiTec HS-311 servos from a Danish retailer. The price tag was $14 each!

But that was money well spent! The HS-311’s are much more precise and that is required when using them with gauges.

10 % movement of the servo can be the difference between Flaps 5 and 10 on the gauge. I that case the S3003 simply are not up for the job. I might them (S3030’s) on other guages with a larger travel for each movement. Or perhaps for the starter buttons. But for now they are back on the shelf.

So save you self the disappointment (and 3 weeks waiting time) and buy some quality servos from the start.
